FAQ About Cayman Brac
Do I need a passport or visa to enter the country?
All travelers need a current passport to travel to the Cayman Islands.
What currency is used on the island? Do I need to bring cash or will my credit cards work?
The official currency of the Cayman Islands is the Caymanian Dollar (CI money), but because of close relations with the United States, the US Dollar is also widely accepted. Most places on the island accept major debit and credit cards like Visa and MasterCard, but you may wish to confirm in advance with any places you plan to visit as cards like American Express are less frequently accepted.
We accept all major credit cards at our Cayman beach resort, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Which airlines service Cayman Brac and the Cayman Islands?
Cayman Airways is the national airline of the Cayman Islands and is the only airline servicing Cayman Brac Island. Cayman Airways has a direct flight from Miami to Cayman Brac on Saturdays, getting you to the island by 1:00pm with no stop in Grand Cayman.
To reach our small island paradise on other days of the week, you must first fly into Grand Cayman. Airlines currently servicing Grand Cayman include American Airlines, Delta, US Airways, British Airways, Air Canada, and Cayman Airways.
Where is the airport located? How far is it from the resort?
The airport is located on the west end of Cayman Brac and is 2.5 miles from Brac Reef Beach Resort.
What transportation options are available on Cayman Brac?

If you choose to drive on the island, always remember to drive on the left side of the road. The speed limit is designated in miles per hour (mph).
Cayman Brac also offers limited taxi services, generally offered to passengers upon arrival. However, you can check with our front desk for advice on the best options for getting around.
What’s the weather like?
The general climate is sunny, warm, and inviting with average temperatures from 77°F to 83°F. Cayman Brac’s balmy tropical climate can make it feel like summer year-round. Rainy season occurs in May-August.
