Little Cayman and Cayman Brac Diving Trips and Packages

Caribbean scuba diving enthusiasts from around the world have been drawn to the unparalleled splendour of diving the Cayman Islands. The warm Caribbean Sea provides a spectacular marine environment for hundreds of varieties of fish, corals, and sea creatures.

The Cayman Islands’ Sister Islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac are considered to be one of the world’s premier diving destinations. On Cayman Brac, Brac Reef Beach Resort and its on-site dive shop, Reef Divers II, offer their guests the best of Cayman Island diving – a choice of the 120 dive sites dotting the Sister Islands.

Little Cayman Island Diving – Walls of Fame

Plunging to mind-boggling depths, Little Cayman’s exhilarating walls are covered with brightly hued sponges and corals. Bloody Bay Wall, the island’s most famous attraction, offers the finest drop-offs in the Caribbean. Many of the dive sites are also excellent for snorkeling. The underwater visibility around Little Cayman is 100-150 feet, the water is always warm, and colorful sea life, such as turtles and peacock flounder, is in abundance.

Cayman Brac Diving – Wrecks and Reefs

Cayman Brac, with its many wreck dives, offers different delights than Little Cayman. In 1996 a 330 foot Russian warship with four deck guns, renamed the MV Capt. Keith Tibbetts, was sunk off the west end of the island. As well, there are three other wrecks in the area, the 65-foot Cayman Mariner, the 60-foot tugboat Kissimee and the Prince Frederick which ran aground in 1897. Other sites around Cayman Brac include an ancient anchor embedded in a wall, many shallow coral reefs and an underwater city of Atlantis.

Adaptive Diving at Brac Reef Beach Resort

Caribbean scuba diving just got better for divers with disabilities. As the only resort to dive two of the three Cayman Islands, Brac Reef Beach Resort has added adaptive diver training to its repertoire. Brac Reef Beach Resort has teamed up with Dive Pirates Foundation—an adaptive dive club and charity for divers with disabilities—to offer the underwater world of the renowned Cayman Islands.

Adaptive divers are a class of divers who may not be completely able to use their limbs, sight or hearing. But if they have general mobility and just need a bit of assistance getting in and out of the water, they’re adaptive and can enjoy Cayman Island diving with a specially trained adaptive dive buddy. Divers who are a quadriplegic or completely blind are considered escorted divers and need three other people to dive with them in a team.
